   CHECK-IN INFORMATION

May 2010 Update

ANCHORAGE GATE   L-2 (Lower "baggage claim" level, Door 7)

All passengers traveling between June 1st through September 30th will check in at our gate location L2 at the Anchorage Airport unless otherwise informed. You will bring your bags directly to our gate.

  Check-in time: Check in 1 hour prior to departure time. For TSA requirements, please have a drivers license or government issued picture i.d. A TransNorthern Aviation gate agent will be waiting there to assist you.

  Location: Gate location at the Anchorage Airport is Gate L-2 for the 2010 season. It is on the lower "baggage" level, at the far end through Door #7 curbside. Walk straight through the door and TransNorthern is directly up the ramp. Passengers will not be required to go through security.

 PASSENGER BAGGAGE INFORMATION

  BAGGAGE ITEMS

  Limits: Please limit your baggage to 50 lbs. per person plus a carry-on of 15 lbs. or less. Due to the smaller dimensions of overhead storage and under-seat space on the various aircraft, we may ask you to allow our agent to place the bag in a separate compartment of the aircraft before boarding. You will be allowed to retrieve the carry-on at the airport destination. Laptops and reasonably sized backpacks are acceptable.

  Fragile or high-value items should be carried into the cabin with you (i.e medications, cameras, reading material etc….

   GUNS and FIREARMS

 Firearms - firearms must be carried as checked baggage, must be unloaded and packed in a hard-sided container.  

Ammunition: Small arms ammunitions for personal use must be securely packed in fiber, wood or metal boxes or other packaging specifically designed to carry small amounts of ammunition.

  HOW TO DRESS

  Alaska weather conditions are unpredictable. Wear layered warm clothing and have a waterproof jacket on our flights even if the sun is shining where you start your flight.

  DELAYS  

Our TransNorthern gate agent will keep you informed of a flight delay and the proposed departure time. There are restaurants, stores, and coffee shops nearby in the terminal. We will take the flight at the next possible time and make every effort to assure that you reach your destination safely.

  Major Airline delays: If you miss your TransNorthern Aviation flight due to connections from the major airlines, we can assist you in acquiring an alternate source of transportation or in contacting the lodge owner.
